another hot one today, and did feel very humid before the breeze blew up this afternoon. just shy of 30° by earlyafternoon and a fair bit of cloud about now. Bit of a rakcet over the house this morning as this was heading ont ofarnborought to presumeably pick up some exhibits form the air show.

Good evening. The cloud came early afternoon , initially it was thin and high and still allowing the sun to shine, . By 4.30 pm we were under total cloud cover. Radar is showing little blobs of rain but nothing has fallen here.

“Same here Derek. A line of rain on the radar but I think it's radar tracing paper and a copy of what rain could look like instead. 😄 ”

“Yes SARAH, it’s strange the number of times we see possible rainfall and nothing gets to ground level.”

Overcast, gloomy and feeling chilly in the wind. Definitely not t-shirt weather. No rain as yet and looking at the radar it seems to be disappearing before it reaches here. Enjoy the rest of your evening folks 😀 😘 🤗

Whoah! How clever is this? The Metcheck Thunderstorm Tracker Satellite allows you to see the developing storms across Western Europe and tells you whether they are growing or decaying. Every 15 minutes we take a snapshot of the cloud cover then measure the temperature and height of the clouds and show you whether the area of clouds are developing into thunderstorms and what direction they are moving in.

You probably hear a lot about the Jet Stream in the news. It's either too far North or too far South. The jet stream is identified as winds at 300mb (during Winter) and 200mb (during Summer). It is these winds which are responsible for driving and developing weather systems across the Atlantic.
