A bright and warm weekend in store for many parts of the UK as pressure tries to rise across the country. However, there will still be enough instability to trigger some showers by this afternoon, especially across more western regions.
So for this morning it is a rather misty and murky start to the day for many regions with a fair amount of low cloud around, especially towards the east There is already some sunshine around, especially out towards the west, and as we go through the day skies will tend to brighten in many places although cloud may linger in some spots.
Many places will be dry today, but there are a few showers across southeast England this morning and these will tend to drift westwards so that by this afternoon some scattered showers will break out over parts of western and south-western England along with Wales. They will be hit-and-miss affairs with many places missing them, but where they do occur then they could turn heavy with a rumble or two of thunder. A few sharp showers may also break out over central Scotland but again will be fairly isolated.
In the sunshine temperatures will reach highs of 19°C to 22°C quite widely so feeling very pleasant but it will remain a touch cooler around coasts where onshore breezes feed in and where any cloud lingers.
Little change is expected tonight and tomorrow with any showers fading away this evening to leave a dry night but mist and low cloud will again become more extensive, especially in the east. This will burn back to northern and eastern coasts tomorrow to leave many places with a mainly dry and bright day tomorrow but once again a few heavy showers will break out although they will be hit-and-miss affairs.
