The middle of the week brings little change with a slack synoptic pattern in charge and once again heavy showers and thunderstorms will be breaking out during the course of today. There will be some differences in the distribution of these showers though and later on tonight a frontal system approaching from the east will bring a spell of rain to southern counties of England.
For this morning it is a rather misty start to the day with a fair amount of low cloud around along with some fog patches. However, this murk will clear during the course of this morning to leave many areas dry with warm sunny spells developing, but it won't be long before cloud bubbles up and a scattering of showers break out, especially across England and Wales. By this afternoon some heavy downpours bringing the risk of hail and thunder are expected with the emphasis today on more central and southern regions although a shower cannot be ruled out anywhere. For much of Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland there will be more in the way of drier and sunnier weather with fewer showers, but eastern coasts will again remain cool and misty. Top temperatures will again be in the range of 22°C to 25°C in the sunnier spots with coastal regions cooler, especially where it remains misty.
Showers and thunderstorms will rumble on into the evening before tending to die out overnight only to be replaced by an area of more persistent rain moving in from the east across central and southern parts of Britain, the rain locally quite heavy. Elsewhere and it will again turn misty in places with some low cloud and fog forming. Tomorrow sees a band of cloud and rain slowly pushing west/northwest across England and Wales with heavy showers and thunderstorms developing in the far south, but further to the north it should be drier ad brighter away from eastern coasts.
