Fine Spell AheadAdded : Sunday at 15:00 High pressure is now building across the country and is set to be the dominant feature in the next few days across many parts of Britain and Ireland. Therefore, plenty of quiet weather is in store but it's not all good news if you suffer from hay fever with pollen levels on the rise.
We are now also just over a month from the longest day which means that the sun is getting towards it's strongest too so UV levels will also become high, so please remember to apply the sun cream if you're going to be out and about.
Here's the forecast chart for Monday:
High pressure centred just off the East Anglian coast is keeping most places fine and settled, but a southerly wind in the far west and northwest will bring more cloud and perhaps a little rain or drizzle for a time:
Very little change is expected on Tuesday with the sunshine helping daytime temperatures into the low twenties across northern regions:
It will be northern regions that see the highest temperatures in the next few days as towards the south and east there will be more of an onshore breeze helping to keep things that little bit cooler. However, nights will still be chilly with some rural frost in places, so there could be some impressive diurnal ranges of temperature on offer in the next few days:
From midweek onwards high pressure looks set to remain in charge, but it will drift a little further northwards which will allow more of a east/north-easterly wind to develop across southern regions:
This looks set to bring cloudier and cooler conditions with eastern coasts becoming rather chilly once more:
By the end of the week we will be watching low pressure to the south as this could bring an increasing risk of rain or showers, but this is still a fair way off and is something that we will monitor in the coming days:
In the meantime, a fine few days ahead for many regions with sunshine and pleasant temperatures, the highest of which look set to be across more northern regions for a change.
