Some showers overnight and the now familiar 'cloudy and chilly' start to the day in the this part of the country. There look to be some sporadic showers in the South East this morning but I think that you would be unlucky to be caught in one...
Temperature between 6-7°c and the barometer is a little lower, showing a 1017 mBar.

A dull and chilly start to the day with almost complete cloud cover and a sneaky breeze. No rain however and none forecast for the whole day. It is about time that we had some warm weather .I shall go for a game of golf in the hope of winning £1 🤞 PS Wrong about the rain it has just started.

Good morning. Bright sunshine here as I type this, but there is a cold gusty wind from the North keeping things fresh. There have also been a couple of sharp showers already. The wind history shows a regular pattern of weather arriving from the North - almost hourly - of short spell of less wind (15-20), building up to much more (35-40), followed by a squally shower and back to a calmer interlude. Much the same as yesterday.

Morning all. Another mainly cloudy start to the day. Yesterday had showers in morning and evening. Feeling much colder today but still dry at the moment. Couldn’t see the moon last night-too cloudy!

You probably hear a lot about the Jet Stream in the news. It's either too far North or too far South. The jet stream is identified as winds at 300mb (during Winter) and 200mb (during Summer). It is these winds which are responsible for driving and developing weather systems across the Atlantic.
