Although it was raining at Beeston when I left the shop, it’s basically dry here in Long Eaton, and really, there’s been virtually no rain somehow. There is a cold wind my goodness!

14:00, 9.6C Rain has died down and even odd flash of sun again an hour ago but rain picked up a bit agin, for such a changeable day the forecasts really have been pretty good: we did have rain in the smal hours but then had nice patch early doors and then the rain kicked in agin around 9.30am . We were due a lighter rain/clear but windy spell (that hasn't really picked up that much here and the MetOff have scaled it back quite a lot) and then rain to pick up a bit again late arvo and into eve , not sure it's going to let up at all. Tomorrow: Metcheck - o/n rain then partly cloudy showers around lunch then turning fair, 11C || MetOff - cloudy start heavy showers mid morn and then partly cloudy in arvo, 13C || BBC - light rain/showers in morn sunny intervals in arvo, 13C || Goog - rain o/n then showers til midday then partly cloudy, 13C

After the sunshine this morning the rain has arrived ☔☔ and it's getting windy which is pegging the temperature right down. Washing drying under the carport.

“Re , earlier comments, they burn off when it's dry enough and if it's not too windy. They've come unstuck in the past with things too dry and not looking at the future forecast. Personally I think it's a waste of time and unnecessary polluting of the air. Watch the movie that ANNE suggested, so far about a third of the way in they make some since.
Good piccy s earlier too 👍”

Welcome to the more interactive side of Metcheck. Every day Metcheckers up and down the country tap their barometers, rub their thermometers and submit their weather reports in to us.
If you have any interesting weather where you are right now, or simply fancy telling everyone what it's like outside your window then send in a weather report to us using the form below.
To add a weather report is quick and easy. Simply fill in the form above. You don't have to add all the weather variables if you don't want to, but at least just let us know what the weather is like there.
You will then receive an email allowing you to publish your weather report live on Metcheck.
Once your post is on the site you can edit it by clicking on the blue EDIT button to the bottom right of the post. Note, you can only edit and see these buttons on your own posts and nobody elses.

Whoah! How clever is this? The Metcheck Thunderstorm Tracker Satellite allows you to see the developing storms across Western Europe and tells you whether they are growing or decaying. Every 15 minutes we take a snapshot of the cloud cover then measure the temperature and height of the clouds and show you whether the area of clouds are developing into thunderstorms and what direction they are moving in.

You probably hear a lot about the Jet Stream in the news. It's either too far North or too far South. The jet stream is identified as winds at 300mb (during Winter) and 200mb (during Summer). It is these winds which are responsible for driving and developing weather systems across the Atlantic.
