Bore da, another lovely sunny morning, blue sky predominates and the sun feels warm. Despite forecasts of 18mph gusts the breeze is barely moving the tree branches. The cloud did gather yesterday afternoon in order to drop more rain on us overnight. Weather has made up for it this morning, I suspect it won’t last looking at the radar, so the washing is out with more to follow. Mr W watches the central heating temperature in the house with an eagle eye, the battles over how chilly I think the house is are well documented on the TV advert for heated cushions. Last night he forgot to turn the boiler off resulting in a warm house this morning, as he refuses to have a radiator in our bedroom and windows open, neither of us noticed. I totally enjoyed a warm bathroom this morning, very necessary as our shower decided to give up and halfway through showered me with cold water. So the plumber is coming tomorrow and ear plugs will lessen the sound of his moaning about gas and other bills.

Good morning. It’s a cloudy start to the day but it does seem to be getting brighter. Currently 12 degrees with a breeze from the south west. Forecast suggests a day of sunny spells and a top temp of maybe 15 degrees. Have a good day all. A very light drizzle arrived just after 10am, everything now damp outside. Edited : Tue 19 Mar - 10:35

Good morning. A bright start to the day but more cloud cover now. Feeling quite mild in a brisk, possibly strengthening South Westerly. Forecasts seem to have backed off on probability of rain today, though it looks like we may get wetness of some sort tonight and tomorrow. A pleasant spring day here yesterday with light winds and hazy sun.The crop sprayer had its first outing of the year - once the many leaks caused by the early winter frosts had been fixed!

Whoah! How clever is this? The Metcheck Thunderstorm Tracker Satellite allows you to see the developing storms across Western Europe and tells you whether they are growing or decaying. Every 15 minutes we take a snapshot of the cloud cover then measure the temperature and height of the clouds and show you whether the area of clouds are developing into thunderstorms and what direction they are moving in.

You probably hear a lot about the Jet Stream in the news. It's either too far North or too far South. The jet stream is identified as winds at 300mb (during Winter) and 200mb (during Summer). It is these winds which are responsible for driving and developing weather systems across the Atlantic.
