Pressure will be rather low across many parts of Britain and Ireland this weekend with a trailing weather front lurking close to eastern districts for much of the weekend bringing some pulses of rain northwards at times. Despite this, away from the southwest where there will be some heavy showers around, it won't be too bad with plenty of warm sunny spells around.
There is plenty of sunshine around in many areas this morning with the last of the overnight cloud and rain now lying across eastern and north-eastern parts of Scotland. Some cloudier skies are still lingering across eastern and south-eastern counties of England otherwise for many it will be a dry and bright day with sunny spells. However, there are some heavy showers close to south-western coasts and further showers will break out across parts of southwest England and the Republic of Ireland today, perhaps bringing some hail and thunder. Meanwhile, cloud will thicken across south-eastern parts of England as a pulse of rain moves north out of France, the rain turning heavy and persistent across eastern regions later on. Temperatures today will range from 12°C in the north to 17°C in the south with generally light winds.
A wet night follows across some central and eastern counties of England with some heavy and persistent rain developing and pushing slowly north, reaching parts of northeast England by dawn although there is still some uncertainty over how far west that rain gets. Elsewhere and it should be mainly dry with clear spells and it will turn cool under those clear skies, remaining milder in the wetter regions. Tomorrow sees further spells of rain affecting eastern parts of England and Scotland but further to the west it will be drier and brighter with sunny spells and just a few scattered showers.
