The end of the working week is almost upon us and for many it’s been another very warm week with temperatures well above normal. Indeed the Central England Temperature (CET) series is currently running at 3°C above normal with no immediate sign of a change to cooler conditions although the far north and west will be cooler at times.
Friday morning has started off in a very similar fashion to recent mornings with many areas dawning fine and sunny and temperatures are already climbing. There is still some mist and low cloud around, especially close to eastern coasts, but this will soon burn away although some coastal regions may hang onto some low cloud for much of the day courtesy of a breeze off the sea. Otherwise it will be another fine and very warm day with long spells of sunshine for most regions. The only exception will come across parts of the northwest where slightly cooler and cloudier conditions will prevail with temperatures here held back in the teens, but in the sunnier areas maximums of 25°C to 30°C are again expected with sea breezes keeping coastal regions more refreshing. The odd heavy shower may break out this afternoon towards the northwest and towards the southeast of England but these will be pretty isolated affairs.
After a fine and very warm evening a fine and warm night follows with temperatures only slowly dropping back and in the London regions values may not drop below 20°C. Once more some mist and low cloud will form in places by the morning but this then burns away tomorrow to leave most places with a very warm or hot weekend with plenty of summer sunshine around and temperatures approaching 32°C in places. However, the far north and west will be a touch cooler and cloudier at times and if you're seeking some respite from the heat, sea breezes will develop around the coasts.
