Believe it or not but high pressure has not been the dominant feature this week synoptically with slack weather patterns affecting much of Britain and Ireland meaning that whilst most places saw further fine and very warm weather, some places have seen some showers. Pressure is now rising again across the country bringing a fine and hot weekend to most with the summery weather set to continue through much of next week too but there will be one exception.
The weekend starts off with some mist and low cloud around, especially in some coastal regions, but it won't be long before it is burnt off by the strong sunshine and then for most places it will be a fine and hot Saturday with long spells of sunshine. Once again the only exception will come across parts of the northwest of Scotland and Ireland where slightly cooler and cloudier conditions will prevail with perhaps the odd spot of light rain or drizzle. Temperatures will range from 15°C to 19°C in these regions, but elsewhere it will be a very warm or hot day with temperatures widely in the mid-high twenties, but towards central and south-eastern parts of England maximums of 31°C or 32°C are possible although coastal regions will see some cooling sea breezes developing. The odd heavy shower may break out this afternoon towards the southeast of England but these will be very isolated if they do develop.
After a fine and very warm evening a fine and warm night follows with temperatures only slowly dropping back into the mid-high teens for many although the northwest will be a touch fresher. Some mist and low cloud will form in places but this soon clears tomorrow to leave most places with another very warm or hot day with temperatures approaching 32°C in places as this remarkable fine spell continues.
