The final weekend of October is set to be very mild, windy and rather unsettled for many regions as low pressure to the west and its associated frontal systems bring bands of rain north-eastwards across the country. However, there will be some drier and brighter spells around too, especially towards the southeast of England and much of Scotland will also do pretty well today too.
It's a rather cloudy and damp start to the weekend across many central and southern regions with outbreaks of rain and drizzle pushing north and this process continues today with these damp conditions reaching Northern Ireland and southern parts of Scotland by this afternoon. For much of central and northern Scotland it will actually be a pretty decent day with plenty of sunshine around, and for parts of eastern and south-eastern England it will turn brighter this afternoon with some sunny spells developing. Drier and brighter conditions will also develop across parts of Ireland later on but no matter where you are, it will be another very mild day with top temperatures ranging from 13°C to 16°C in the north and 17°C to 20°C in the south, but in the best of any sunshine towards the southeast a maximum of 22°C is possible which is well above normal.
Another mild night follows with some rain pushing north-eastwards before clearing to leave many areas dry to end the night although some showers will continue in the west. Tomorrow will be another day with above normal temperatures and whilst there will be some drier and brighter spells around, further showery outbreaks of rain are expected to push in from the south at times.
