Settling Down Next Week?Added : Saturday at 14:30 The weather has returned to a more normal pattern this weekend across Britain and Ireland with low pressure passing by to the northwest and the Azores High sitting over...well...the Azores:
This leaves us under a westerly flow with weather fronts pushing in from the west. Following today's system, another one follows hot on its heels for tomorrow, and on the face of it the synoptic chart for tomorrow looks poor:
However it isn't as bad as it might seem. Most of those fronts pushing in from the west are weakening and so rainfall amounts for many will be small, with some parts of southeast England staying dry throughout as indicated by the forecast accumulated rainfall by Sunday night:
Looking further ahead and even by the middle of next week the far southeast looks like it will remain rain free:
Meanwhile the further north and west that you are the wetter it will be as further systems push in off the Atlantic. Having said that, there will still be a fair amount of dry weather around too. Monday sees another set of fronts pushing in from the west, but again they will be fairly weak, bring some rain and drizzle to north-western areas with many other places dry apart from a few showers in the north:
By Tuesday that trailing front will be pushing northwards as a warm front bringing cloud and drizzle to northern regions, but in the south that ridge of high pressure brings a fine and increasingly warm day:
A cold front then looks set to move southeast on Wednesday, again as a weakening system, but bringing somewhat cooler conditions in its wake:
But thereafter the Azores High shows signs of wanting to build in for the end of the week to bring plenty of fine, settled and pleasant weather:
