Good morning, all, it’s cold and grey with some sharp showers passing over, windchill 0°c. Lambs out in the field are running around (perhaps keeping warm 😊), the next batch will have to stay inside- they’re a bit crammed in and sharing water buckets etc but they won’t be out as scheduled today. MO seem to have gone overboard with the heavy rain forecast for most of the day, MC a bit kinder! Just in for a quick bite of toast, been watching a ewe get ready to lamb since 4 am, she needs to get a move on now!
CW, text from granddaughter who has sent a new report from Cronulla beach for ANZAC Day, she’s working at Cronulla rsl, first meal booked for 6.30 am.
Also want to send very best wishes to DEREK’s daughter and SHOSHANA, everything crossed.

Good morning. Full cloud cover here and feeling quite chilly. Just a light breeze from the south west, could have sworn it veered from the west while outside earlier. Much the same as yesterday but no cold showers yet.

There is complete cloud cover and the breeze is very chilly. The overnight rain has passed through leaving the grass too wet again to cut, at this rate I shall need to borrow a couple of sheep to eat it. Like everyone I could do with some warm weather - the only indication that we have moved from winter to spring is that the trees are in leaf !!

Bore da, back online after a glitch, BT’s description not mine. Yesterday was a lovely sunny day albeit with a chilly breeze today the breeze has changed direction so it’s not as chilly, there is a lot of high cloud but the sun is managing to peep through flooding my living room with its glorious light. Boring food shopping today hopefully the promised drizzle for this afternoon will fall on the other side of the hills again, there’s a good chance given the wind direction that the clouds will rise and therefore drop their load after they pass over the higher ground. Normal service resumed. It's pouring down and feels very cold with that breeze. So much for getting into the garden. Think I'll be staying indoors today.

Not a bad start with some sunshine breaking through the cloud and not so much of that cold wind. Off to the Zoo to see how the snow leopards are settling in. They should be ok in this recent weather !! Just like home for them. Then up to Cumbria tomorrow so expect a drop of a couple of degrees and some rain.

Whoah! How clever is this? The Metcheck Thunderstorm Tracker Satellite allows you to see the developing storms across Western Europe and tells you whether they are growing or decaying. Every 15 minutes we take a snapshot of the cloud cover then measure the temperature and height of the clouds and show you whether the area of clouds are developing into thunderstorms and what direction they are moving in.

You probably hear a lot about the Jet Stream in the news. It's either too far North or too far South. The jet stream is identified as winds at 300mb (during Winter) and 200mb (during Summer). It is these winds which are responsible for driving and developing weather systems across the Atlantic.
