Temperatures yesterday exceeded 30°C again across parts of southern and south-western England and south Wales, whilst an easterly breeze brought somewhat fresher conditions elsewhere. That breeze is now backing towards the south so we are expecting a warmer day in many places again today with temperatures once more climbing above 30°C across parts of central and south-eastern England as the remarkably warm weather continues.
A few showers and thunderstorms have pushed northwards across parts of England and Wales overnight so it's a rather dull start in places with some mist and low cloud, but this will soon clear and then, for much of the country, it will be another fine, sunny and very warm day. There will be a bit more in the way of cloud across parts of Ireland, and this will extend into southern and western parts of the UK as we go through the afternoon, perhaps bringing the odd heavy and thundery downpour, although most places will miss these and stay dry. It won't be as hot for the southwest today with temperatures here in the mid to high twenties, but for central and south-eastern England values of 29°C to 33°C are likely. It will be warm elsewhere with values widely into the twenties, but coastal regions will again be a touch cooler as sea breezes kick in.
Temperatures will only slowly drop back this evening and tonight, with many places remaining quite warm as cloud increases from the west. That cloud will bring some showery outbreaks of rain, mainly across the north and west of the country, and these showers will continue in the north tomorrow. Otherwise, for most places there will be some warm sunny spells once more although a few heavy showers may break out towards the southeast later with temperatures generally not quite as hot.
