Update on Sunday's Low
Added : Yesterday at 13:00
The models now coming to an agreement on tomorrow's low pressure system and the ECMWF ► and ICON look to have jumped to the other side of the fence (see yesterday's discussion) by bringing the system further north and more in line with the solution that the GFS ► has been putting forward for a while now :-
The latest GFS ► not too dissimilar but still has a slightly deeper system :-
Good confidence then on a pretty wet and miserable end to the weekend for southern Britain with some heavy rain around and brisk east/north-easterly winds to boot too.
Once again, concerns with the rain as with the ground absolutely saturated in many regions then it really won't take a lot of rain to bring back the worries about flood risk. With over an inch of rain possible in places by the time this system moves away to the southeast (late on Monday), then this is a concern and this is why we have a Weather Watch out for this event.
That system taking its time to clear too, and it could be Tuesday before southeast England sees an improvement with Monday looking distinctly chilly, damp and windy across southern and south-eastern Britain :-
