It's been a mainly cloudy morning with a few brighter spells, after a dry start light showers have developed since mid morning, feeling on the cool side in the brisk wind with a current temp of only 12c.

The steady rain of earlier has become light and intermittent, there is a light breeze and it feels reasonably warm. The rain is expected to continue until mid-afternoon. I've just copped for a dose of polymyalgia rheumatica which sounds dramatic but is actually just an affliction which reduces and makes painful movement to the upper arms, shoulders, hips and thighs. The doc says that a dose of steroids will clear it up so 🤞

Bore da, arrived home later yesterday after our long weekend away. Mr W enjoyed the steam engines, I enjoyed the break. We had an amazing range of weather over the weekend from really hot sunshine on Friday, Saturday and Sunday until rain started around four pm the two hours of almost continuous thunder accompanied by heavy hailstones. We had a dry journey home yesterday then the rain started late afternoon, it finally stopped sometime in the early hours to leave us with a cloudy sky this morning and a slight warm breeze, hopefully I may get my washing dry as the low pressure system has now passed over our area.

Morning all. What a weird morning-cloudy,misty,no blue sky to be seen, but nice and warm,it just seems a weird light and heavy-if anyone knows what I mean! Yesterday became sunny for a short period but clouded over with a maximum temp of 17 degrees. It was quite breezy come the afternoon and I was quite happy to come inside around 15-00 and stay there.

Good morning. I think the rain has a little way to go before it clears from here. We did have some heavier stuff about 6 o’clock but it is now just light warm rain. And enough to save me watering for a day or two, I hope.

Good morning. The day started with some mist and haze and a rather red hue above it. After some weak sunshine the cloud has almost filled in, with higher cloud to the East grey cloud to the West and a little brightness in between. It appeared that the breeze was blowing from the East while the cloud was moving from the South West. We have just had about 20 minutes of light rain and the wind has dropped away probably pending a change of direction. We shall see. A fine drying day yesterday with warm sunshine and a good breeze for most of it.

Good morning folks... Intermittent overnight showers have continued into the daylight hours. Looks to be with us for the rest of the morning but clearing up around lunchtime.
Still quite mild at 13° and a very light Southerly is gradually pushing the total cloud cover off to the Northeast.
Barometer is down to 1001mBar, visibility is only a couple of miles and the air quality is good, with an index of '30'...
...and on this day, in 1894, Blackpool Tower first opened to the public who paid a 6d (six old pence) entrance fee, six pence more for a ride in the lifts to the top, and a further six pence for the circus.

You probably hear a lot about the Jet Stream in the news. It's either too far North or too far South. The jet stream is identified as winds at 300mb (during Winter) and 200mb (during Summer). It is these winds which are responsible for driving and developing weather systems across the Atlantic.
